This work takes the form of a short game where players proceed by walking across words. A story reveals itself to the players throughout the course of the game. This story is an essay based on the creator’s experience of a time when “I couldn’t write a poem.”

By giving the written characters the function of game objects, it was possible to express the hidden meanings in the space between words and the very feeling of the characters themselves. As we searched for a new form of “poetry” suitable for gameplay, we attempted to create a presence that cannot be expressed by words alone through fusions and estrangements of meaning and movement.

It is a great honor to receive this wonderful prize and to be introduced alongside works by creators we have so much respect for. We would like to thank you deeply for revealing the possibilities for the further expansion of video game development.
