3&bC Website
This website communicates the brand concept of “3&bC wa, torawarenai” (“3&bC is independent”) with a tongue-in-cheek reference to the aspect ratio for the responsiveness of device browsers connecting to the internet (i.e., in the variability of layouts and sizes to fit any device size).

Products are displayed as large as possible in response to the size of the user’s device, in order to make colors appear vividly “independent of” device sizes. This site was constructed as a website that boldly combines distinctive web technologies and expressions.

Issay Kitagawa + Semitransparent Design

Issay Kitagawa
CEO and head designer of GRAPH
Born 1965 in Kasai, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. Graduated from the University of Tsukuba in 1987. Joined GRAPH in 1989 (when the company was still called “Kitagawa Shiki Printing Co.”). Aiming to create a form of communication design that resonates with people, Kitagawa has been involved in branding, design, intellectual property management, character development, and manufacturing activities. By proposing “design as a management resource” that represents the viewpoints of businessmen and designers alike, Kitagawa has gained the support of a broad clientele, from local SMEs to famous international luxury brands.

Semitransparent Design
Established in 2003. The company engages in projects ranging from website planning and production to graphic design and the exhibition of works at art museums and galleries in Japan and abroad. Past activities include hosting the Semitra exhibition “tFont/fTime” (Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media [YCAM]) and the “Illuminating Graphics 0,” “Illuminating Graphics 1,” and “Illuminating Graphics 2” exhibitions (Creation Gallery G8), and participating in the “Semitransparent Design: Boring/Bored” exhibition (ginza graphic gallery) and in the “Open Space 2008” and “2015” exhibitions (NTT InterCommunication Center [ICC]).
