STUDY (teaser movie)

STUDY is a collection of experimental videos that I started to make when the world slowed down due to the coronavirus. This is an experiment in observing human cognition and sensation through short videos. The purpose is to observe, without preconceptions, phenomena that are not well understood. The videos are made using stop-motion techniques, as if I were working just using the tools around me. You can observe the behavior of objects and physical properties, the texture of typography, and the mechanism by which graphics are involved in the phenomena. Perhaps humans have a sense called “movement” as well as a visual sense. I cannot help feeling that design may engage both of these senses. Just as when I was a kid and absorbed in catching insects and observing their activities inside a cage, I would like to continue to make model-like images and observe them with my own eyes. I also feel a strong desire to find applications for these experiments.
