I really like Patrice Leconte’s style which is like a breeze that leaves no heaving wake. A quintessential Leconte fantasy, this film was what I expected it to be and more. I had fun doing the lettering, which I designed to create a sense of being drawn to the tents of a small circus troupe that has come to town. As one of Mr. Leconte’s fans, I’d be delighted if he likes the poster as well.

Kaoru Kasai
Born in Hokkaido in 1949. After works at Bunka Printing Co. and Ootani Design Laboratory Co., jointed Sun-Ad. Co., Ltd. in ’73. He made the commercial film for Oolong tea, Suntory Ltd. and United Arrows Ltd. and a lot of graphic advertisement as art director. His works include book design and advertisement for film such as “Wonderful Life”. Awards he received include : Asahi Advertising Award, Tokyo ADC Grand Prix, Mainichi Design Award.
