The concept of the web, the slogan, is clicking a moment of thinking power thought clicking into place think CLICK (BA (Hons) in Design, School of Design, Hong Kong Polytechnic University) (think of an orchestra before a performance; each instrument is being tuned, playing its own individual sequence of note, regardless of those played by others; at random intervals, toots, bangs and screeches fill the air in a chaotic fusion of discordant sound. Enter the conductor, he taps his baton against the podium, and with this click, the musicians are focused and the instruments become one. Now think of design as the music, of yourself as the orchestra, and of your brain as the conductor; the BA (Hons) in Design will show you how to command your instruments to act in harmony; how to make that simple click.) It is a web to introduce the BA (Hons) Design, School of Design, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong. There is a catalog coming along with the web to project the dynamic of School of Design. Both covers and shows the creative strength of different media – from digital to paper. The web and the catalog can stand-alone completely. My intention is melting and transforming a concept from digital (web) to paper (book). They interact and complement with each other to form a wholeness of the concept and to work as a showcase of the School of Design. As the art director and graphic designer, i believe that a catalog/web of education organization is not an object full of information or the design is just information organized with graphic elements, but it is an object with a soul – a concept. And i am always with an attitude to challenge and to explore the limitation and strength of different kind of media.
