Last Decade 1989～1991
The “LAST DECADE 1989~1999” in and encompassing present-progressive file document collecting the artworks and activities of Noriyuki Tanaka from 1989 to 1999. This project takes the form of a book to be published each year, starting in 1990 and ending in the year 2000. The work involves much manual labor including writing over medical record sheets which are then offset printed, hand pasting materials an adding prints and drawings. We only publish 300 copies each time. I feel that my very limited edition poses a question to the modern day printing, publishing and distribution systems which seem to care only for efficiency. Such a limited edition is commercial impossibility under current circumstances, but I do it anyway – because I want to. I certainly intend to keep working on the series.
