Taku Satoh Design Office Inc. Poster
A poster for our office. In Japan, as elsewhere around the world, the computer is becoming an ever more important design tool. Here, I tried to create a typographic poster using the only tool I am truly comfortable with – the pencil. I used a computer to draw the profiles of the characters, which I later filled in with gradations of fine pencil lines. This is the first time I have expressed my ‘analog’ work using digital technology.
Taku Satoh
Born in Tokyo in 1955. Graduated from Tokyo University of Fine Arts and Music in 1979 and completed the graduate study at the same university in 1981. After working in Dentsu Inc., established Taku Satoh Design Office Inc. in 1984. His main achievements include JAGDA New Designer Award in 1992, Tokyo ADC Award in 1996, JPDA Silver Prize, New York PDC Gold Prize, Japan Package Design Award Gold Prize and others. Joined exhibition “Close-up of Japan Sao Paulo 1995” and publisehd book of his packagin design “SKELETON” in 1995. He is a member of Tokyo TDC and JAGDA.
